Shouldn't there be antitrust anti-competitive investigations against Hollywood?
Isn't hollylwood controlled by a cabal of 3 or 4 of the same producers and their entourage of fellow hook-noses?
Why isn't there 10 or 20 movie-making clusters all over the U.S., controlled by a wide variety of people, not just a few Ratburgs, Verminbaums and Slimesteins?
I don't think so, because much of the old "Hollywood" is now spread out to other cities and states. The antitrust investigation should be for Rupert Murdoch's media empire, because he bought FOX News (a television station) BEFORE he had citizenship in the U.S. (he now has dual citizenship with his homeland Australia and the U.S.). He has bought Direct TV, TV Guide, Wall Street Journal, several radio stations, the FOX channels (to include FOX News), th NY Post, Intermix Media Inc. (which has MySpace and other social networking sites), and so on. Murdoch has been in trouble in the past for unfair business practices---a ruthless competitor, so if anyone is guilty of antitrust violations, Murdoch would be that one.
We hardly ever hear about Hollywood anymore until the auditions for "American Idol"---although I wish the stars would be more visible and vocal in support of Democrats and President Obama, and would actively assist in getting the health care/insurance reforms legislation passed.
