How to remove screen protector off a DSLR?

Hi,

I've installed a LCD screen protector on my Canon Rebel about a year ago and the protector is great, taking the brunt of the abuse on my camera's LCD screen. On my last big trip, the protector finally gave up so now there's a hairline crack running across the length of the protector (the lcd is fine). The crack is quite distracting so I'd like to replace the protector with a new one. The problem is, the adhesive on the current protector is very strong and I'm not sure how I can pry off the protector without applying a large amount of force which would damage the camera.

Has anyone removed an LCD screen protector off their DSLR before? Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks!

This is what the protector looks like:

You may find contacting the maker of the after-market LCD protector screen will give you a better solution than here.

Canon may have some experience as well. Here is their phone number in the States
