Flip DVI KVM Switch does not work with a VGA port on a laptop?
Hi I have just bought a Flip DVI KVM Switch. I have the following set up:
* One monitor with a DVI connection only plugged into the belkin flip switch;
* A mac mini computer running mac osx which only has a DVI port;
* A DVI/VGA gender changer connector to convert the one of the Belkin DVI output cables to VGA;
* A windows vista laptop (Lenovo Thinpad x61s) which only has a VGA port;
* Mac wired mouse and keyboard plugged into the belkin flip switch;
Everything works fine when I am switched to the mac mini, with its DVI connector. However when I flip over to the Windows laptop with its VGA connector, the mouse and keyboard works, but the monitor doesn't. It looks like for some reason my monitor does not recognise the laptop after the DVI/VGA converter has been fitted - problem is my laptop does not have a DVI port?
Any ideas - I was really looking forward to this working?

Most likely because the DVI KVM switch will only pass through a digital DVI signal and cannot work with analog VGA.
