Will the combination of these 2 products allow me to use my TV as a computer monitor?
Well I've already paid for them on eBay anyways but it's just something to ponder while I'm waiting for them to deliver.
My laptop has a VGA output and my TV has either the Video RCA in or the S-Video, no HDMI or VGA.
Anyway I figured the combination of these 2 adaptors would work:

The second one with the VGA to RCA cable won't work because the yellow RCA socket is female, and I need male to plug into TV, same with S-Video
I've seen VGA to RCA converters that have cost around $90 so I really want to avoid spending that much.
That will NEVER work.
Those VGA-to-Svideo adapters are meant for video cards that have a specially-built VGA port capable of sending out an S-video signal. It will NOT work with just any VGA port.
Your laptop's VGA port is NOT one of those specially-built ones. If you attempt to use that adapter, you will get NO image.
(If your laptop had one of those specially-built S-video-capable VGA ports, that adapter would have been included with your laptop).
Read the product description at that EBay page you linked to. It says:
"Please check your PC & Video Card manual or manufacturer to make sure that your VGA card has TV-Out function capability through the VGA connector to ensure this cable will work for you!"
In other words, it requires a specially-built VGA port!
