Will this space work for installing a electric service panel and if so, how do you recommend I fasten it.?
The service panel is nowhere near any water, etc. etc.
The studs are 2x6 and are spaced 16 inches on center
The spot that I would like to install it is 24 inches from the corner and 36inches + from the window.
The feeder wires are coming up in conduit outside the building, then justting in directly through the back of the panel.
a)Is it ok to have the studs so close to the flush mount panel
b)If this is ok, how should I install this panel properly, fastners, etc.
Thanks
No. Must have 3 foot clearance on all sides, top and bottom just as a rule.
It is acceptable for a electric panel to be between 2 studs that are on 16" centers. If you'll look, it fits almost perfectly. On the sides of the panel should be some knock-outs that are probable oblong. Knock 'em out and drive one screw through said holes into the studs.
Hope this helps.
