Linking VGA Adapter Cable with Sony Vaio CS and Sony Bravia LCD HDTV?
So I recently purchased a Sony Vaio CS and bought the VGA cable and the audio cable. I hooked my notebook to the tv, put it in PC input mode, and only sound is coming out. Onscreen, it says unsupported signal and go check output. I put in the output of the vga cable in correctly and was not sure what I was doing wrong.
I searched around the internet and there was something like a vga converter file needed for lab tops that do not support VGA? Which I have no clue of what that is.
If any one that can help me out, thanks a lot.
Well first, All Sony Vaio laptops can do VGA and up to 1920x1080 video signals.....
So you need to go into your Vaio, set the screen resolution to 1920x1080 BUT MAKE SURE your refresh rate is ONLY set to 60 Hz and nothing else!
Can't be 70Hz...or 80 Hz...or 90 or 120 Hz....only 60.
Did you activate the VGA output on the Vaio too? Sometimes they are not active and you have to turn them on...
Now if you STILL don't get a picture, then it's time to open the manual for the TV set and follow the instructions, peruse the resolutions table and read the whole chapter about the PC input....
Then whip out the Vaio guide and verify how to turn on the VGA output on it.
