vga box converter question for hdtv and monitor?

is something like that compatable with CRT monitors? what resolutions would my monitor need to be set on to properly display 480,720,1080 i/p? and other than the vga box is there anything else i would need?

Computer video cards are not at this time capable of sending a proper signal to the HDTV in high def...they will just have to use the basic TV signal out on them...it will not be much longer until they have them from what I have heard.
