Panel Dim

2003 dodge stratus- really dim dash lights and no lights on the gear indicator panel(on the console)?

remove the gear shifter cover and see if the light for the gear shifter is shorting out against metal or the dimmer is cut down on them, the shifter light is probably a blown bulb,and the light switch can be causing a lot of the lights to be dim on it,even a instrument panel shorting out will cause them go be real dim sometimes,good luck.
