Can rust be extracted from a fluid (water) by using magnets?
In my hot tub, I am assuming I have a part that has lost it's protective coating (probably a component of the pump). After a week or so after changing the water, the water turns reddish to black.
It's not the heater, all the plumbing is PVC and I can't get to the pump since it is bolted to the under side. I am contemplating dropping a couple of magnets in the filter basket and seeing if it clears the water...
Probably will but am curious as to if anyone else has experienced this.
