PC to HDTV: VGA-to-VGA or VGA-to-HDMI?
I would like to connect my Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop to my 46" Sony Bravia LCD TV. The laptop only has VGA output and no HDMI or DVI outputs. The TV has both HDMI and VGA inputs. I was wondering which connection would give me the better quality on the TV:

As long as your TV has VGA input, use the VGA to VGA. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, so the picture quality will not be any better if you use a VGA-to-HDMI cable; in fact it may actually be slightly worse as the signal needs to be converted from analog RGB to digital, and some data is always lost in conversion.
